Temporary Cafe Assistant / Barista

Job Description
Working in our bustling Christmas Cafe in Stratton Audley, making exceptional coffee and delivering outstanding service will be at the heart of what you do whilst enjoying a great place to work. As part of the Barn team, in this role you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the coffee shop. Serving our customers and delivering outstanding Customer Service. Contributing to the smooth running of coffee shop, duties to include set up, close down and operation of POS, following procedure in line with Food Safety regulations. You will have additional responsibility for some food preparation, stock control, food ordering, cleaning the Cafe and day to day food compliance administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality or within a customer service environment. Full training can be provided. Core working hours for the Full Time position are 09:30-16:30 Tuesday to Friday with weekends and Mondays (from 30/11) on rotation.
Saturday working hours are 09:30 - 16:30
Sunday working hours 09:30 - 15:30
Main Duties include
· Set up of coffee shop in line with Coffee Shop Morning Schedule
· Prepare and serve coffee shop product to customer requirements in a timely manner
· Take orders from the customer and process through POS terminal
· Maintain clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes at all times, empty rubbish, clean tables, floors
· Maintain levels of food hygiene compliant with food safety regulations
· Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent wastage
· Keep up to date daily records for Fridge Temperatures and Dates for Food Products
· Stock replenishment and rotation for Cans / packets / Milk etc.
· Record deliveries in the Barn Diary
· To demonstrate a clear understanding of Allergen information to deal accurately with customer needs
· Inform owners when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properly
· Keep up to date stock lists, listing ordering requirements weekly
· Close down of coffee shop to include cleaning and mopping at the end of the day
Additional duties
· Support and cover the shop as required.
Essential Qualifications - If you do not already hold these qualifications, these can be completed prior to staring the role.
· Food Safety Level 2

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Experience:
- Food safety: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
