APR Roofing & Building is looking for a hardworking, reliable, and motivated Labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist roofers and builders on various sites. Duties include preparing sites, loading/unloading materials, operating basic hand/power tools, and ensuring a clean, safe working environment. - Site Preparation & Cleanup:Prepare work areas, including stripping off old roofing materials (tiles, slates, felt), removing debris, and keeping sites tidy to ensure safety.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport building materials (timber, tiles, lead, cement) and equipment to and from vehicles and up to roofs via ladders or hoists.
- Supporting Trades: Assist roofers and builders with tasks such as setting up scaffolding and ladders, mixing mortar and concrete, and fetching tools.
- Roofing Assistance: Assist in installing roofing felt, battens, insulation, and roof tiles under supervision.
- General Building Tasks: Support general building work, including digging trenches, moving materials, and basic groundwork.
- Experience: Some previous experience in construction or roofing is preferred but not essential; a positive "can-do" attitude is more important.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with skilled tradespeople.
- Transport: Reliable transport to get to various job sites.
