Join Our Team – Companion Required
Kean Companions Ltd is looking for a kind, caring and reliable person to join our growing team as a Companion.
This role would be ideal for someone who has recently retired and misses having a purpose, or someone looking to earn some extra income while making a genuine difference in people's lives.
About the role
You'll be supporting adults of all ages by providing companionship and helping them remain independent. Every day is different and may include:
Sharing a cup of tea and a chat.
Accompanying clients on outings such as cafés, garden centres, shops or walks.
Providing respite for family members.
Helping with light household tasks such as tidying, laundry or preparing a light meal.
Accompanying clients to appointments.
Encouraging hobbies, social activities and confidence.
Offering friendship, reassurance and emotional support.
This is not a personal care role. We focus on building genuine relationships, reducing loneliness and helping people continue to enjoy life.
What we're looking for
A genuinely caring, friendly and compassionate person.
A full UK driving licence.
Access to your own car.
Reliability and good communication skills.
Flexibility, as no two days are the same.
Willingness to undergo a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check.
Don't have experience?
Please don't let that put you off.
If you're patient, kind, enjoy talking to people and treat others with dignity and respect, you may already have exactly the qualities we're looking for. Whether you've been a son, daughter, mum, dad, sibling, friend, neighbour or simply someone people naturally turn to for support, those life experiences are incredibly valuable to us.
We can teach the role, but we can't teach kindness.
Hours
Approximately 20 hours per week to begin with.
Opportunity to progress to full-time hours as our client base continues to grow.
Job sharing will be considered for the right applicants, so if you can't commit to all the hours but feel you'd be a great fit, we'd still love to hear from you.
Pay & Benefits
Paid monthly.
National Minimum Wage.
Mileage paid at the standard HMRC rate.
Join a supportive, family-run limited company that genuinely values both its clients and its team.
A rewarding role where you'll make a real difference in someone's life every single day.
At Kean Companions Ltd, we believe companionship can change lives. If you would like to be part of a team that puts kindness, dignity and compassion at the heart of everything it does, we'd love to hear from you.
