We are excited to be launching a newly refurbished Ds Classic African Grill, Restaurant & Lounge in the heart of Birmingham. Under new management, we are building a passionate and dedicated team to deliver exceptional food, drinks and customer service in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Bartenders who enjoy creating great customer experiences and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Job Summary
As a Bartender, you will play an important role in delivering excellent customer service while preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails. You will help create a welcoming atmosphere for guests and work closely with the restaurant team to ensure efficient service throughout the venue.
This role requires confidence behind the bar, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure during busy periods. Evening, weekend and late-night shifts will form part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to a high standard.
- Mix and prepare cocktails consistently and efficiently.
- Deliver friendly, professional and attentive customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.
- Restock bar supplies throughout service.
- Verify customer age and comply with licensing laws and responsible alcohol service.
- Process customer payments accurately.
- Work closely with waiting staff and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including late-night closing shifts where required.
- Help create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a bartender in a bar, restaurant, lounge or similar hospitality venue.
- Experience preparing and serving a variety of cocktails and beverages.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual and professional with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and late-night shifts.
- A Level 2 Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to complete this qualification with our support).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a restaurant, lounge or cocktail bar.
- Knowledge of African-inspired cocktails or premium spirits (training will also be provided).
- Experience handling cash and card payments.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
