Terms: 37.5 hours per week,
15 month contract starting 1 October 2026
£15,600 salary

Job Purpose
To gain hands on experience in planning, delivering and evaluating physical activity and community engagement, while completing a recognised apprenticeship in sport and health. The role supports the approach by assisting community led activities, gathering insight, supporting behaviour change initiatives and helping to deliver programmes shaped by local needs, particularly in communities experiencing the highest inequalities.

Person Specification
Skills and Attributes
Friendly, approachable and supportive.
Good communication skills, including listening and speaking with different people.
Organised and able to manage your time with support.
Willing to learn and take feedback positively.
Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently in the community.
Able to keep clear and accurate records.
Basic IT skills (email, online systems, documents).
Knowledge and Experience
Interest in physical activity, community work, youth engagement or health.
Basic understanding of what makes a good community experience (welcoming, safe and accessible)
No qualifications are required, however a full UK driving license and access to a car is desirable, alongside knowledge of the Peterborough area.
Qualifications and Training

Additional information
Living Better operates a hybrid work location policy. There is access to an office every day of the week, or staff can choose to work from home. We also encourage co-location with partners, to build more effective working relationships. There is an expectation that apprentices will be based in the St Ives office, unless out within local communities, including for any team and staff meetings and for other meetings as required.
There will sometimes be a need for travel around the partnership area of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and wider which will necessitate the postholder having access to suitable transport. If driving oneself, a current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle available for work purposes with business cover insurance is required.
