We are looking for a reliable and motivated Courier Depot Operator & Driver to join our team. This is a varied role combining depot operations with courier driving duties, ensuring parcels and deliveries are sorted, loaded, transported, and delivered efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our depot and ensuring timely collections and deliveries throughout the local area.
Key ResponsibilitiesDepot Operations
- Receive, unload, sort, and scan incoming parcels and freight.
- Prepare consignments for dispatch and organise delivery routes.
- Load and unload company vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and inventory.
- Keep the depot clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Assist with general warehouse and operational duties as required.
Driving Duties
- Carry out scheduled collections and deliveries within designated routes.
- Ensure parcels are handled carefully and delivered on time.
- Complete vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Obtain proof of delivery and maintain accurate delivery records.
- Provide exceptional customer service at all collection and delivery points.
- Adhere to all road traffic laws and company driving policies.
RequirementsEssential
- Full UK driving licence held for at least 4 years with no more than 6 points
- Good organisational, time-management and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail.
- 5 year checkable work history and CRC
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience and knowledge of using IT systems..
Desirable
- Previous experience in courier, logistics, warehouse, or transport operations.
- Experience using parcel scanning systems or route-planning software.
