Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS3 Science Teacher to join our Islamic educational institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to inspiring curiosity and a love for science, while developing students' scientific knowledge, practical skills, and critical thinking. This role involves delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and supporting each learner to achieve their full potential within a nurturing Islamic environment.
Duties
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the KS3 Science curriculum and cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
Teach the core science disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, encouraging enquiry-based learning and practical investigation.
Assess student performance through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support academic progress.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, respect, and a love of learning.
Plan and carry out safe practical experiments in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching resources, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum development.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress, achievements, and any concerns.
Stay up to date with developments in science education and teaching methodologies to continually enhance classroom practice.
Support the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities, science clubs, educational visits, and school events where appropriate.
Requirements
A relevant degree in Science, Education, or a related field is essential.
Strong knowledge of the KS3 Science curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Experience teaching Science at KS3 or secondary level is desirable but not essential.
A passion for science education and a commitment to helping students develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong interest in the subject.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative in lesson planning and curriculum delivery.
