Scheme Co-ordinator (Part-Time)
Location: The Limes Resident’s Association, Halesworth, Suffolk
Salary: £13.50 per hour
Hours: 14 hours per week approx (Monday–Thursday)
About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and organised Scheme Co-ordinator to join our small team at The Limes, a welcoming retirement housing community for independent older residents.
This is a rewarding role that combines resident support, estate management and light administration. The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the scheme while promoting residents' independence, privacy and wellbeing.
Please note: This is not a care role. The position provides a "good neighbour" service and light-touch support only. Full training will be provided for the communal alarm systems and resident emergency alarm equipment.
Working days are Monday to Thursday (14 hours per week). Exact days and hours to be discussed at interview but will normally begin no later than 9.00–9.30am.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit every resident once each week to provide wellbeing checks and maintain regular contact.
- Maintain accurate daily records relating to resident wellbeing and planned absences.
- Keep emergency contact information up to date for all residents.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies during working hours, including contacting emergency services, healthcare professionals or relatives when required.
- Monitor the condition of the buildings and grounds, reporting maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the estate, including meeting contractors and carrying out minor repairs where appropriate.
- Arrange call-outs for contractors in the event of breakdowns to communal services or emergency systems.
- Test and record weekly fire alarm and smoke alarm checks within communal areas.
- Test and record residents' personal alarm systems at least monthly.
- Maintain the accident book and associated records.
- Undertake general administrative duties as required by the Manager.
- Carry out other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Organised with good record-keeping skills.
- Able to work independently and use their initiative.
- Calm and confident when dealing with emergencies.
- Comfortable communicating with older people, relatives and contractors.
- Practical, with the ability to undertake minor maintenance tasks if able.
- Competent using basic IT systems and email.
