Job Summary
MeowCraft is looking for a friendly and reliable part-time Barista to join our team at our shop on the Shambles in York.
We serve barista coffee, matcha, bubble tea and other hot and cold drinks. We also sell handmade art products and promote creative experiences at our nearby MeowCraft Studio.
This is a customer-facing role in a busy tourist location. The successful candidate should be confident speaking with customers, able to work independently and willing to help with all daily shop duties.
Barista or drinks-making experience is preferred, but full training will be provided to the right person. Weekend availability is important.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, matcha, bubble tea and other drinks
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service
- Take customer orders and process payments using the till
- Explain our drinks, handmade products and art experiences to customers
- Keep the counter, equipment and customer areas clean and organised
- Restock ingredients, cups, packaging and retail products
- Follow food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures
- Complete opening and closing duties
- Support the team during busy periods
- Work independently when required
- Help create a welcoming and positive environment for customers
Requirements
- Previous barista, café, bubble tea or customer service experience is preferred
- Friendly, reliable and professional
- Confident communicating with customers
- Able to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods
- Good attention to detail and cleanliness
- Willing to learn our drink recipes and operating procedures
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Available to work weekends, school holidays and some weekdays
- Able to stand for extended periods and carry out general cleaning and restocking duties
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
- Must be able to travel reliably to York city centre
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekdays, especially weekends, school holidays and holidays
Hours are part-time and will vary depending on business needs. Applicants should clearly state their weekly availability when applying.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
