As a Room Leader, you will work closely with senior management to oversee key‑holder duties and provide reliable deputising support to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll lead your room with confidence, inspire your team, and help us deliver exceptional early years experiences every single day.
Key Role
As our Room Leader, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality early‑years education and care for children aged birth to five. You will lead your team, inspire excellent practice, and ensure that every child receives the best possible start in life.
- Room leadership — Responsible for the day‑to‑day planning, delivery, and monitoring of practice within the allocated room, ensuring full compliance with EYFS requirements.
- Staff supervision — Lead, coach and support Nursery Educators and Apprentices, delegating tasks appropriately and identifying training needs.
- Quality assurance — Monitor the quality of teaching and learning, contribute to staff appraisals, and support continuous professional development.
- Team collaboration — Work flexibly as part of the management team, supporting colleagues and ensuring effective use of staff, volunteers and resources.
- Key holder duties: responsible for opening and closing the setting.
- Key person role — Maintain accurate child profiles, observations and reports, ensuring individual needs are reflected in planning.
- Teaching & learning — Deliver high‑quality educational experiences that support children’s emotional, social and cognitive development.
- Parent partnerships — Build strong relationships with families, sharing regular updates on children’s progress.
- Safeguarding & welfare — Protect children from harm, follow all safeguarding procedures, and maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
- Continuous improvement — Contribute to development plans, attend training, and reflect on practice to support ongoing quality.

Experiences and Qualifications :
- 2 years+ experience working within an early years setting, with a sound understanding of the EYFS.
- Must have a minimum Level 3 or above in any recognised childcare qualification.
- Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references required.

Hours of work:
Up to 40 hours per week between 8 am and 6 pm, full-time contract.
Rate of pay:
£15.10 per hour
