PROCUREMENT OFFICER
Role Purpose:
To support the Head of Procurement with the implementation of the procurement strategy for the Force and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and with the delivery and on-going development of a professional procurement service which meets the needs and objectives of the Force, delivers value for money whilst ensuring compliance with all financial, budgetary and procurement regulations.
You will be required to demonstrate in your application the minimum requirement for the role:
Educated to Degree level in Purchasing and Supply, or an equivalent amount of proven relevant experience.
A full member of the Chartered institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) – preferably Level 5/6 qualification, or be currently working towards, MCIPS.
Detailed understanding of procurement/contract law.
Knowledge and experience of procurement and financial regulations.
Experience of preparing reports, procedures and other documents including financial reports.
Significant experience of procuring a wide range of works, goods and services.
Competent in the use of ICT e.g., specialist procurement software and Microsoft Office applications, especially spreadsheets and databases.
