We are looking for a proactive Sales Assistant to join our Outdoor Shop team.
This role suits someone physically fit, with great people skills, a hands-on approach, and the energy to thrive in a busy, outdoor-focused environment while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the outdoor shop area, including compost, aggregates, and fencing displays
- Ensure adequate stock of packing materials, trolleys, and baskets
- Price up and display new stock accurately and attractively
- Assist customers with purchases, including packing and carrying items to vehicles
- Keep the department clean, tidy, and safe at all times
- Restock products promptly and ensure displays remain well-presented
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet customer needs
- Operate safely when handling heavy goods and equipment
Key Skills
- Must be physically fit and capable of frequent heavy lifting
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Positive, energetic attitude towards work and customers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work on Bank Holidays when required
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to excellent service
- Forklift licence or previous forklift operating experience is desirable but not essential
- Basic organisational and time management skills
Own transport arrangements are essential as public transport is not reliable to Coolings.
