Overview
We are urgently seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver to join our team. This role involves short & long-distance freight transportation across various locations, requiring a dedicated and experienced driver with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating curtain-side lorries, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service throughout their journey. Duties
- Operate HGV Class 2 lorries across national routes, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Load and secure cargo safely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing methods
- Deliver goods to designated locations punctually while maintaining a professional attitude towards clients
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen issues during transit
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle throughout the working period
- Comply with tachograph regulations and working hours legislation
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving (at least 1 year), ideally with delivery driver background
- Strong understanding of loading and securing techniques
- Excellent driving skills with a, preferably clean, driving licence for HGV Class 2 vehicles
- Ability to navigate efficiently across different routes using GPS systems
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and documentation effectively
- Ability to work independently in a demanding environment while maintaining high safety standards
- Flexibility to undertake long-distance trips, including overnight stays in the lorry cab as required
