The Bartlett School of Architecture is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.1 FTE) Research Fellow on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The postholder will contribute to the delivery of the Practice: Parts Unknown project by undertaking qualitative data gathering, thematic analysis and research activities that support dialogue between architectural education and professional practice. The role also involves supporting the design and delivery of engagement activities, developing graphic and design outputs, coordinating event logistics, and contributing to the preparation of high-quality project reports and research outputs. Applicants should hold a doctorate in architecture and/or design (or be close to completion) and demonstrate experience in qualitative research, public and industry engagement, strong analytical, organisational and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. • This is a fixed-term role until 13th September 2027 the first instance • Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Grade 6B with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD Thesis. • We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible. • This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on site. The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in architecture and/or design and have experience of qualitative research, public and industry engagement, and producing high-quality research outputs. They will demonstrate strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret research data, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. They will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, contributing to the delivery of engagement activities, design outputs and project reporting to a high professional standard.
