Overview
We are looking for someone to join our multi-disiplinary team. Our Pharmacy Dispensers play a crucial role in our busy pharmacy, ensuring that patients receive their medications accurately and safely. This position involves working closely with team-members and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of practice within the pharmacy environment. Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser is highly desirable. We would consider candidates with no previous pharmacy experience but have worked in other high-paced environments that would be suitably placed in a medicine counter assistant role.
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of medication for patients, ensuring correct dosages and formulations.
- Provide information and guidance to patients regarding their medications, including usage, side effects, and storage.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications.
- Support the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality patient care through effective communication and teamwork.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance professional skills.
Skills
- Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser is highly desirable. If no experience in pharmacy, experience in a high-paced environment is a necessity.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to empathise and communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medications.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Able to use computers to maintain accurate patient records, assist with ordering stock and support patients

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
