Sporty Teaching Assistant
The Supply Room are looking for sporty teaching assistants to work with students in mainstream secondary and specialist schools around Bristol. This role is full time, on a temporary contract, and is paid between £95 - £100 per day.
What will you be doing?
· Using your knowledge and enthusiasm for sports to engage and build a rapport with the students
· Taking students out of the classroom for a breather to do some physical activity, with the goal of getting them refocused on the lesson. This could be in the form of a short game, coaching session or kicking a football around
· Acting as a mentor and role model to the children you are supporting
· Supporting students with SEN, challenging behaviour, and various other support needs
· Working 1:1 with particular students to provide targeted support in academic areas
· Working with small groups and supporting the wider classroom
· Ensuring the provision of necessary learning materials for students with additional needs
· Providing help proactively to students who might need the support
What do we need?
· We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic teaching assistants that are willing to get stuck in, use their own initiative, and continually learn on the job to refine their knowledge
· We are eager to hear from people that have experience working with young people, whether that be in schools, volunteering, care work or otherwise
· We’re particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience as a sports coach or football coach for young people
· Staff should be happy working as a teaching assistant supporting in-classroom, as well as being able to help with sports activities when children need a movement break
· Applicants who have previous experience supporting adults or young people with SEND will stand out!
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
