The Role
We are recruiting a passionate and creative Head Chef to lead the kitchen brigade for our client. This is a hands-on role for a culinary artist who can craft elegant yet unfussy menus that showcase the incredible larder of the Scottish coast and countryside. The successful candidate will have full autonomy over the kitchen, from menu development and sourcing to team management and financial control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, cost, and implement seasonal menus that reflect the best local, seasonal produce.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a small, dedicated kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive environment.
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, health & safety, and consistency.
- Manage kitchen budgets, GP margins, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Work closely with the hotel managers to develop and promote culinary events and offerings.

- Will have a proven track record as a Head Chef, preferably within a quality hotel or restaurant.
- Possesses a genuine passion for Scottish produce and the skill to let it shine.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team.
- Has excellent financial acumen and experience with kitchen administration.
- Is resilient, organised, and creative.
- A relevant culinary qualification is desirable.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
