Machine Operator – Mechanically Minded (Full Training Provided)
South West England £13.75/hr + regular overtime at 150% (typical earnings £33,000–£45,000) Permanent, Full‑Time – Monday to Friday – No weekend work
About the Role
As a Machine Operator, you’ll operate and maintain production machinery, ensuring efficient output and high‑quality products. You’ll work in a busy, modern manufacturing environment where teamwork, communication and mechanical understanding are key. Full training is provided, but you must be confident working with tools, equipment or mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow company SOPs and health & safety procedures
- Set up, run and monitor corrugated packaging machinery
- Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot minor issues
- Maintain high quality standards and complete documentation
- Handle materials and tooling efficiently, reporting defects
- Use basic maths for measurements and calculations
- Participate in weekly PPM (planned preventative maintenance)
- Manage tooling and equipment around your machine
- Work closely with your team to maintain and improve standards
- Flexibility to work occasional night shifts (paid at premium rates)
The Package
- 47.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri)
- Overtime at 150%
- Night shift premium (typically 30–50% higher)
- No weekend work

What We’re Looking For
- Mechanically minded – confident with tools, machinery or hands‑on work
- Experience in a mechanical, technical or production environment (manufacturing, automotive, engineering, printing, CNC, fabrication, maintenance, farming, etc.)
- Ability to read job specifications and follow instructions
- Good communication skills and teamwork
- Reliable, motivated and keen to learn
- Comfortable working in a busy production environment
Preferred but not essential:
- 1 year machine operator experience
- Materials handling or warehouse operations experience
