This training role within Sheffield Talking Therapies, will work within the Talking Therapies service in providing high volume low intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training. The post holder will provide a range of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to patients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. You will work in service 4 days a week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for 1 day. The University of Sheffield are unable to accept trainees who are enrolled on another course elsewhere for the duration of the training year.

To meet all of the National Talking Therapies standards.
To ensure productivity expectations are met in line with the National Talking Therapies manual, currently to deliver 20 clinical contact hours (pro-rata) per week. This may involve booking over 20 patients per week in order to achieve the 20 delivered hours expectation. These standards are reviewed nationally, and it is expected that staff will continue to meet any updated standards.
To offer at least one early appointment and one late appointment per week, or one evening clinic and/ or Saturday working if required.
To meet patient needs by working across Sheffield due to demand. Thursday afternoons are service wide non-clinical time which involves, meetings, forums and CPD opportunities.
In Sheffield Talking Therapies, we expect a PWP trainee to book in 12 hours of appointments with patients each week. In the Service it is encouraged a gradual build-up of clinical work over an 8 week period once the assessment OSCE has been successfully passed.
You could be offered a permanent position in Talking Therapies if you pass the course and on completion of the course you will be expected to register with the relevant professional body.

Deliver face-to-face and virtual treatment sessions with patients based on patient demand and service need. You may be expected to physically be in work for your full working week if there is a service need, therefore you need arrangements in place to be able to work your full working hours in work premises. Working all of your working hours virtually is not an option.

To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services.
