Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Support & Projects Technician to join our team. In this role, you will will combine day-to-day support with active involvement in technology projects, system enhancements, and implementation work. This role helps maintain reliable and secure IT services while also contributing to change initiatives, process improvements, and the successful rollout of new tools and systems across the organisation.
This position provides first- and second-line technical support, troubleshoots hardware and software issues, manages user accounts and devices, and assists with the planning and delivery of IT projects, system upgrades, deployments, and infrastructure improvements. The role works closely with internal teams, outsourced IT providers, and stakeholders to ensure services remain dependable and that technology changes are implemented smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to users via phone, email, and chat channels
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, account, and device issues in a timely manner
- Log, manage, and update incidents using helpdesk or ticketing systems
- Support project delivery by assisting with system improvements, testing, and rollouts
- Assist with the setup, configuration, deployment, and implementation of business applications, user accounts, devices, and system upgrades
- Contribute to project planning, requirements gathering, infrastructure improvements, and change activities for technology initiatives
- Deliver small-scale technology enhancements and process improvements alongside the support function
- Communicate solutions clearly to users, avoiding technical jargon where possible
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues, fixes, support procedures, and project activities
- Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to systems, processes, and user experience
Skills
- 2-3 years experience in a hands-on technical support or service desk environment, with exposure to project delivery or system implementation work
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance operational support and project tasks effectively
- Experience with helpdesk or ticketing systems and familiarity with ITIL processes, ideally alongside project coordination or change activities
- Working knowledge of Windows environments and common business applications
- Experience supporting users in a business environment and contributing to technology changes, improvements, or rollouts
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, third-party providers, and project stakeholders
- Experience supporting cloud-based environments (e.g. Microsoft Azure) and understanding of implementation considerations
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and project updates to non-technical users
Tech skills
- Microsoft 365 suite - including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and related collaboration tools
- Active Directory/Entra ID
- Windows operating systems (desktop/laptop support)
- Basic networking knowledge (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs)
- Endpoint/device management tools (e.g. Intune) and support for technology rollouts
- Helpdesk/ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) and basic project/change documentation

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
