Role: SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEN School
Location: Caterham
Start Date: Immediately
Age Range: 11–16 years
Contract: Long-term Monday to Friday 9AM To 3:30PM
The Role:
We are recruiting a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist SEN school in Caterham. You will be supporting secondary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional complex needs, helping them to engage with learning and develop essential life skills.
Working closely with teaching and support staff, you will play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with ASD and complex needs throughout the school day
- Assist with learning activities, communication, and emotional regulation
- Provide 1:1 and small group support as required
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Support pupils’ personal development and daily routines
About You
- Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs, particularly ASD or complex needs or Care Experience
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Flexible, proactive, and positive in your approach to challenges
- A genuine commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing
