Graduate / Trainee Surveyor – Flat & Pitched Roofing
We are seeking a highly motivated and hardworking Graduate or Trainee Surveyor to join our team, supporting both our flat and pitched roofing divisions across a wide variety of projects throughout London and the Southeast.
This is an excellent opportunity for either a recent graduate looking to begin their career in the construction and roofing industry, or an ambitious trainee who is currently studying, or interested in studying, towards a relevant HNC, HND or degree-level qualification.
The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced Surveyors, Contracts Managers and Directors, gaining practical experience across the commercial and operational aspects of roofing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site surveys, assessments and measurements for flat and pitched roofing projects.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed measurements, cost reports, project documentation and health & safety information.
- Work alongside senior surveyors and contracts managers to assist with the efficient programming and delivery of roofing works.
- Assist with the preparation of estimates, quotations and budgets for new tenders and projects.
- Monitor project costs, progress and performance throughout the works.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to help ensure projects are delivered effectively.
- Attend site meetings and provide project updates where required.
- Ensure company procedures and relevant health & safety requirements are followed.
- Develop knowledge of flat and pitched roofing systems, materials and construction techniques.
- Participate in training and professional development to build surveying, commercial and project management skills.
Qualifications & Experience
We are interested in hearing from candidates at different stages of their career. You may be:
- A recent graduate with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or another relevant construction-related subject.
- Currently studying towards an HNC, HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Looking to begin a career in surveying and willing to undertake a relevant qualification alongside your employment.
Previous roofing experience is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
The successful candidate should have:
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to sites across London and the Southeast.

Pay: £26,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
