We are fortunate to be able to recruit a full time Medical Secretary in a fast-paced medical office environment. If you are a motivated individual with excellent customer service skills, we encourage you to apply for this position.
You would work a total of 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours would be between 8am - 6.30pm on a rota basis.
The GP Practice is over two sites, Birchwood Surgery and Sollershott Surgery. You would be based at both locations and will need to be able to work across both sites.
Following a successful probationary period, the hourly rate of pay would increase to £14.04 per hour for this position.

Responsibilities
· Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required
· Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently
· Manage all enquiries in an effective manner
· Maintain an accurate referrals database
· Action all incoming electronic / paper documents
· Process calling letters as requested
· Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient’s healthcare records
· Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary
· Process referrals using the Electronic Referral System (ES)
· Process requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance, solicitor’s letters and DVLA forms
· Read code data on SystmOne
· Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request as appropriate
· Manage all administrative queries as necessary
· Carry out system searches as requested
· Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
· Support all clinical staff with general administration tasks as requested
· Process incoming medical report requests
· Processing outgoing medical reports
· Liaising with clinicians to complete any necessary works
· Inputting data on the Medical Report spreadsheet
· Processing all medical reports using the iGPR program
· Liaising with insurance companies and solicitors where needed
· Practice full confidentiality and GDPR in all areas of work
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Secretary or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is an advantage
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Knowledge of date protection and confidentiality
