We are recruiting an experienced Bid Manager/Bid Project Manager for a growing passive fire protection and fire-door contractor.
This is not purely a bid-writing role. You will take full ownership of tenders as business-critical projects, managing the process from initial qualification through to final submission.
The Role
- Own and manage the complete tender process
- Take responsibility for the pricing and estimating workstream
- Create bid plans, deadlines and action trackers
- Coordinate commercial, operational, technical and compliance input
- Chair bid kick-off and progress meetings
- Challenge incomplete information and missed deadlines
- Manage PQQs, SQs, frameworks and tender portals
- Ensure submissions are accurate, compliant and delivered on time
- Attend client meetings when required
- Support post-tender reviews and improve future submissions
The Ideal Candidate
You must have previously worked in a Bid Manager or Bid Project Manager role and be comfortable taking complete ownership of tenders.
Experience within passive fire, fire protection, fire doors or a closely related specialist construction contractor is strongly preferred.
You will also need:
- Proven experience managing bids from qualification through to submission
- Experience overseeing pricing and estimating within tenders
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent stakeholder-management skills
- Confidence challenging and holding senior colleagues accountable
- Experience with public-sector tenders or frameworks
- A structured, organised and deadline-driven approach
- Strong client-facing communication skills
- A collaborative attitude with no ego
