Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
The Facilities Engineer supports the delivery of facilities, construction, and refurbishment projects, while ensuring building assets are effectively managed, maintained, and compliant with statutory requirements. The role combines project support, asset management, maintenance planning, and CAD design activities to support site operations and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of facilities, construction, and refurbishment projects.
- Assist in developing project briefs, budgets, schedules, and progress reports.
- Review asset information, O&M manuals, and technical documentation to develop planned maintenance schedules.
- Maintain asset records and maintenance data within the CMMS (IBM TRIRIGA).
- Produce and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support facilities and project activities.
- Support project costing, BOEs (Basis of Estimates), and proposal development.
- Ensure facilities assets and activities comply with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to support project and maintenance activities.
