Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver/ including some assembly of household & garden furniture (training provided) to join our team. If you enjoy the freedom on being out on the road and you are a keen at DIY and have a good eye for detail this will be a great fit for you. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods with some assemblies safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of the daily responsibilities. Most runs are 2 man teams due to weight and size if some items.
Days of working are flexible 2-5 days per week Mon-Friday your choice, also require weekend only drivers Sat/Sunday or both.
Responsibilities
- Drive a van to deliver goods to various locations, ensuring adherence to all road safety regulations.
- Load and unload items, performing heavy lifting as required while maintaining proper lifting techniques.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with company standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery records all completed with app on phone.
- Assist in the warehouse when not on deliveries, helping with inventory management and organisation of stock.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Van Driver or Delivery Driver is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and best practices is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with team members and customers effectively.
- A valid driving licence is required, with a clean driving record preferred and must be over 25 for insurance resposons.
