Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Metal Workshop General Hand to join our manufacturing team. This role involves supporting the primary, Sheetmetal, welding and machining and painting processes, within the workshop environment. The successful candidate will support the production process by handling materials, operating hand tools, and ensuring quality standards are maintained. This position will involve lifting and moving products around the shop, ensuring a good flow of material around the shop Thus constant use of hands and arms will be required.
Responsibilities
- Depending on experience, assist with fabrication tasks including cutting, drilling sanding and assembly of metal components
- Operate hand tools and tooling safely and efficiently to support production activities
- Handle sheet metal and other raw materials with care, ensuring accurate measurements and cuts
- Support the mechanical assembly of products according to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
- Assist with routine maintenance of equipment and tools used in the workshop
- Follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines
- Wrapping and palletising parts for despatch
Experience
- Previous experience in fabrication, grinding, welding or related metalwork is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with sheet metal handling are desirable
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, tooling, and assembly processes will be beneficial
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and adhere to safety protocols at all times
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
