Sales Office Administrator

2fawcett Recruitment are recruiting for a confident and commercially minded Sales Office Administrator to join a busy and growing manufacturing business based in Nottingham.
This is much more than a traditional order-processing position. You will manage customer requirements from initial enquiry and quotation through to production and delivery, working closely with customers, suppliers, the sales team and production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Respond to customer enquiries quickly and professionally
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers
- Prepare quotations using internal costing and pricing systems
- Work with the sales team to help convert enquiries into orders
- Follow up quotations and customer requirements
- Accurately process sales orders onto the internal system
- Check pricing, quantities, specifications, artwork and delivery information
- Send order acknowledgements and keep customers updated
- Purchase materials required for customer orders
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and lead times
- Identify potential supply-chain issues and source alternative solutions
- Monitor live orders throughout the production process
- Work closely with production to communicate priorities and deadlines
- Coordinate urgent and time-sensitive orders
- Resolve customer, supplier and production issues efficiently
- Identify opportunities to support and grow existing customer accounts
Requirements
- Previous experience within sales administration, order processing, customer service, purchasing or a similar role
- Experience within manufacturing, print, packaging, engineering or distribution would be advantageous
- Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and internal departments
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage several priorities at once
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when checking pricing and specifications
- Commercially aware with an understanding of how purchasing and customer service affect profitability
- Proactive, positive and solutions focused
- Comfortable working within a busy, high-energy environment
- Able to take ownership rather than simply passing problems on
- Strong IT and administration skills
The business is looking to move quickly, so immediate availability and the ability to interview at short notice would be highly desirable.
