Duties
- Collect blood samples using proper phlebotomy techniques, ensuring patient comfort and specimen integrity
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations, including vital signs and basic assessments
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes clearly and ensuring their understanding
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques during all clinical procedures to prevent infection
- Support laboratory activities by handling specimens accurately and documenting sample details thoroughly
- Perform catheterization procedures when required, following safety protocols and best practices
- Provide basic life support (BLS) in emergency situations, demonstrating quick response and calm professionalism
Qualifications
- Prior hospital experience or clinical setting exposure is highly preferred
- Proven proficiency in phlebotomy with a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures essential for accurate documentation
- Experience with aseptic technique to maintain sterile environments during procedures
- Familiarity with catheterization techniques and pediatric patient care is a plus
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required or obtainable upon hire
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
