Job Overview
Social Media, Content Creator & Personal Assistant
Part-Time | Minimum 10 hours per week | Southend & Ongar (CM5)Paid position with potential for more hours and responsibility
We’re looking for a creative, proactive and ambitious Social Media, Content Creator & Assistant to join us and help take our brands and online presence to the next level.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is fresh out of school or college, starting their career, looking to gain hands-on experience, or a new mum wanting to get back into work and looking for something flexible, creative and varied.
You don’t need years of experience. What matters most is what you can bring to the table.
If you’re someone who understands social media, loves creating content, is naturally curious about what makes people engage online, and can see opportunities to turn social media into real growth and income, we want to hear from you.
The opportunity
This role is a mixture of:
- Social Media Management
- Content Creation
- Creative Strategy
- Social Media Growth & Monetisation
- General Business & Personal Assistant Support
You’ll have the opportunity to work across properties in the Southend area as well as at our studio in Ongar, CM5.
The role is a minimum of 10 hours per week, but there is potential for this to grow significantly depending on the value you bring, your skills and how much you’re able to take on.
We will give you the tools, resources, training and support you need to learn and develop. You don’t have to know everything from day one - but you do need to be willing to learn, experiment, take initiative and think outside the box.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who can look at a business and think:
“How can we make this bigger?”
Can you see opportunities to grow an audience?
Can you create content that people actually want to watch?
Can you understand what is trending and turn it into something relevant to our brands?
Can you use the tools available to you to make our social media work harder?
Can you identify ways to monetise social media and turn attention into genuine business opportunities and income?
If the answer is yes — we want to hear from you.
Your responsibilities
You’ll be involved in:
- Developing creative and engaging content for social media, including videos, photographs, graphics, stories, reels and live content
- Managing and growing social media platforms
- Planning and scheduling content
- Responding to comments and messages and building an engaged community
- Keeping up with current social media trends, algorithms and platform changes
- Coming up with fresh ideas for content and campaigns
- Looking at analytics and understanding what is working and what isn’t
- Finding opportunities to increase reach, engagement and followers
- Exploring ways to monetise social media and generate new opportunities
- Creating content at properties around the Southend area
- Creating content at our studio in Ongar, CM5
- Supporting with day-to-day business and assistant duties
- Helping organise, plan and execute projects
- Researching new tools, platforms and opportunities
- Taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through from idea to completion
Experience & skills
Previous professional experience isn’t essential.
This could be the perfect opportunity for someone who has recently left school or college and wants to build real-world experience, or someone returning to work after having children.
You might already be creating TikToks, Reels or content in your spare time. You might understand Instagram better than most businesses do. You might simply be someone who is naturally creative, organised and curious about how social media works.
We can teach you the rest.
We’re looking for someone with:
- A genuine interest in social media and content creation
- Creativity and the ability to come up with new ideas
- Good communication skills
- A willingness to learn new tools and software
- A proactive, “I’ll figure it out” attitude
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- An understanding of current social media trends
- Confidence using platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook
- Canva, CapCut, Adobe or similar experience would be a bonus, but isn’t essential
- The ability to look at data and learn from what performs well
- An entrepreneurial mindset and an eye for opportunities
Most importantly…
We don’t just want someone to post on social media.
We want someone who wants to make things happen.
Someone who can look at the tools, resources and opportunities available and think creatively about how we can use them to grow.
If you can bring ideas to the table, learn quickly, take initiative and demonstrate that you can create genuine value, there is huge potential for this role to grow.
The more you can take ownership of, the more opportunities there will be for you.
Location & travel
The role will involve working across Southend and Ongar (CM5).
We ideally need someone who drives and has access to a car, as you will need to attend the studio in Ongar and travel to properties and locations when required.
What you’ll get
- A paid part-time position with a minimum of 10 hours per week
- Potential for additional hours and increased responsibility
- Hands-on experience across social media, content creation, marketing and business
- Training and support
- Access to the tools and resources you need to succeed
- The opportunity to develop your skills and build your portfolio
- A varied role where no two days are necessarily the same
- The opportunity to have a genuine impact on the growth of the business
Could this be you?
Whether you’re fresh out of school, looking for your first real opportunity, returning to work after becoming a mum, or simply looking for a creative role where you can learn and grow, we’d love to hear from you.
You don’t need to have the perfect CV.
Show us what you can do.
Tell us what you would bring to the table, what excites you about social media, and how you would help us grow.
If you’ve got ideas, ambition and a willingness to learn, we want to meet you.
Pay: From £25.00 per hour
