Part Time, Evenings and Weekends
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our growing team at The Green Man, a beautifully renovated country pub and restaurant in the heart of Dorset.
This is a part time position, primarily covering evenings and weekends, making it ideal for someone looking for work alongside their studies or other commitments.
The role includes keeping the kitchen and equipment clean and organised, washing up, supporting the chefs and helping maintain our high standards throughout every service. Attention to detail, cleanliness and a positive attitude are essential.
For the right candidate, there is a genuine opportunity to learn new skills, receive training and progress within our kitchen team. One of our previous Kitchen Porters successfully worked their way up to a Chef de Partie role, and we would love to support another motivated person along the same path.

Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support chefs and kitchen staff
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and dishwashing stations throughout each shift
- Support the organization of ingredients and supplies to facilitate efficient food service
- Dispose of waste responsibly and manage recycling procedures in accordance with health standards
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold a safe working environment
- Assist with receiving deliveries and storing supplies properly to prevent spoilage or contamination
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with basic food handling and hygiene standards is advantageous
- Experience in hotel kitchens or culinary settings can be beneficial for understanding fast-paced food service operations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a lively environment

Pay: £10.85-£13.25 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 26.0 per week
