Our local authority client has a great opportunity for HGV/LGV drivers.

This is a temporary role, 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The hours of work are 7.00am to 3.00pm, for a minimum of 7 months, possibly longer.
The pay range is from £14.72 to £16.06 per hour.
You will;
- Drive and operate various waste collection vehicles, using safe and efficient driving techniques, in line with the clients’ requirements.
- Assist in the provision of an efficient waste collection and disposal service, across various locations within York
- Observe health and safety requirements and be responsible for the safety of crew, self and members of the public.
- Be working within a team, including waste loaders and required to assist with loading duties when needed.
You will need:
- A Driver CPC Qualification
- A full Category C Driving Licence
- Class 2 Driving Licence
- A Digital Tachograph Card
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Experience of working under prolonged periods of sustained physical effort
- Previous experience with waste or recycling would be an advantage. However, the client is offering in-house, on the job training. They will also be offering instruction on the various vehicles they operate in the fleet. Therefore, your experience as a driver will be utilised and your skills and knowledge will increase.
