Chef
Location: Moods, 98 Kirkgate, Leeds
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Hours: Full time and part time roles available
Moods is an independent café, bar and restaurant based in the restored First White Cloth Hall in Leeds city centre.
We are looking for chefs to join our kitchen team, working alongside Head Chef Craig Rogan across our daytime café and evening restaurant operation.
Our food focuses on high quality British produce, strong flavours and well executed dishes, with a menu that changes and develops throughout the year.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking dishes to a consistently high standard
- Working across different sections of the kitchen as required
- Supporting both daytime and evening food service
- Preparing ingredients and completing mise en place ahead of service
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Following recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
- Helping with deliveries, stock rotation and storage
- Minimising food waste and looking after ingredients properly
- Working closely with the wider kitchen and front of house teams
- Supporting the Head Chef and senior kitchen team during busy services
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a professional kitchen
- Cares about food quality and presentation
- Can work calmly and efficiently during busy services
- Has good attention to detail
- Is reliable, organised and works well as part of a team
- Is comfortable working evenings and weekends
- Wants to learn and develop within a strong kitchen team
Experience in quality restaurants, hotels or similar kitchens would be an advantage, but we are also interested in chefs with a strong attitude who want to progress.
