About The Role
This is a senior, hands‑on operational leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional product quality and smooth overnight production. As Nightshift Confectionery Manager, you will oversee the nightshift confectionery team and the small transport team, ensuring that products are crafted to the highest standards and delivered accurately.

This position plays a crucial role in protecting that legacy by maintaining rigorous standards, ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace safety regulations, and supporting the values of the business.
A people‑centred leader, you will work closely with the Production Manager and wider management team to get the best out of people, performance, and processes — while safeguarding the business’ brand and culture.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who can:
- Lead with a people‑centred approach
- Organise and manage a varied, fast‑paced nightshift workload
- Maintain exceptional quality and consistency
- Turn production and transport data into action
- Spot operational issues early and solve them quickly
- Build capability and confidence across the nightshift team
Responsibilities:
- Lead the nightshift confectionery team and in house transport team, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality production/delivery.
- Follow and enforce recipes with absolute accuracy for consistent taste, texture, and presentation.
- Manage inventory, avoid shortages, and coordinate with the other departments for seamless handovers.
- Champion hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety protocols at every step.
- Maintain rigorous quality control standards and proactively solve production challenges.
- Train, mentor, and inspire a collaborative, high-performing team.
- Handle shift documentation, staffing rotas, holidays, and performance reviews with precision.
Skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example style.
- An eye for detail and a passion for maintaining high standards in every product.
- A calm, solutions-focused mindset with the agility to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- A basic understanding of machinery and a proactive approach to safety and compliance.
- Experience in a food manufacturing or bakery/confectionery setting is desirable.
