The children, staff and Governing Body of Llanmartin Primary School are looking for an exceptional, innovative, confident and creative practitioner to join our dedicated and passionate team as Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for ALN.

You will be required to commence on 1st January 2027, or sooner, if possible.
Applications are invited from candidates who:
Have demonstrated excellence in their teaching practice and are able to demonstrate significant leadership experience and impact- Share a passion and a high-level skill set for leading effective ALN provision across the whole school
- Understand how to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs, vulnerable pupils and aspirational learners
- Is able to oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s arrangements for ALN. This includes contributing to the development and implementation of appropriate ALN procedures and systems within the school, including strategic financial planning, effective deployment of resources and data collection and analysis, with a view to improved outcomes for learners with ALN,
- Acts as the key point of contact for the local authority inclusion and support services, external agencies, independent/voluntary organisations, health and social care professionals, educational psychologists etc.
- Is a source of expertise on ALN by developing specialist skills and knowledge and keeping up-to-date on the latest guidance available for ALN
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and ALN Transformation
- Leads and promotes excellence, equity and high expectations of behaviour, deploying positive behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently
- Ensures that the wellbeing of all children is central to all that they do and build a relationship of mutual respect with the pupils, parents, staff, wider community and the Governing Body
- Shows excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Motivates, inspires and generates enthusiasm in a team environment and have a flexible and positive approach to challenge and change
- Brings energy, enthusiasm, positivity and drive to fulfil the role to the best of their ability at all times,
- Is an inspirational leader who has a clear vision for the partnership.
