Are you looking to join a friendly and supportive team to help develop children’s curiosity about the world and ignite their imagination? We are looking for a new team member to expand our ever growing team, who is enthusiastic about sand play, enjoys getting their hands in messy gloop and is not worried about a bit of mud. We spend a lot of time outdoors, Forest school is our favourite time of the day.
We are an Outstanding preschool, operating for 55 years, currently based at Whitkirk Primary School. We care for children, ages 2 years to 4 years. We are a small and friendly team. We believe that children need to be happy and confident to be able to access learning opportunities on offer and are looking for someone who can provide a safe, caring and comforting environment whilst developing interests and skills in play. As a charity we value our staff as the most important aspect of our provision therefore we invest in a high staff ratio where the team feels supported.
Applicants must have a minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification. In line with our Safeguarding policy requirements the post will be offered after DBS checks and references have been obtained. Training will be provided with opportunities to develop leadership roles.
We are looking to fill full time or part time roles .
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety at all times
- Support children with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and personal hygiene
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that is welcoming and conducive to learning
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a collaborative atmosphere
- Support management in monitoring children's progress and behavior, providing feedback when necessary
- Help manage classroom resources and assist with administrative tasks related to child records and activity planning
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education environments
- Excellent communication skills in English to engage with children, parents, and colleagues confidently
- Knowledge of childcare best practices, health & safety standards, and nursery routines
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for early childhood development and creating positive learning experiences
Pay: From £13.20 per hour
