Housekeeper, Family Cook & Holiday Childcare Support
Location: Local Family Home
Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Exact hours can be flexible (typically 12 hours per week) Rate: £20 per hour (self-employed, invoiced monthly)
Contract: Self-employed preferred, with flexibility for additional hours when required
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and trustworthy Housekeeper & Family Cook to help support a busy family home. The role is primarily focused on housekeeping and preparing healthy home-cooked meals, with additional support for children during school holidays.
This position would particularly suit an experienced parent, nanny-housekeeper, home help, or someone who enjoys creating a well-run household environment.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- General cleaning and tidying
- Laundry and ironing
- Changing bed linen
- Maintaining a clean and organised home
- Managing household supplies and shopping lists
Family Cooking
- Preparing simple, healthy home-cooked meals
- Planning nutritious family menus
- Food shopping as required
- Keeping the kitchen clean and organised
- Batch cooking and meal preparation where appropriate
Childcare Support
- Providing support with children during school holidays
- Assisting with activities and supervision when required
- Creating a safe, caring, and positive environment
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in housekeeping, family support, or a similar role
- Confident home cook able to prepare healthy everyday meals
- Reliable, organised, and trustworthy
- Comfortable working independently
- Good communication skills
- Ability to provide references
Desirable
- Parent or previous childcare experience
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Driving licence and own transport
