Support Worker – 1:1 Support with a Gentleman with Autism
Are you calm, patient, and someone who values consistency and routine? We're looking for a reliable, caring Support Worker to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a gentleman with autism, helping him live a fulfilling life.
This is a rewarding role for someone who understands that behaviour is communication and who can build trusting relationships through patience, respect, and consistency.
We're looking for someone who:
- Understands autism and takes a person-centred approach to support
- Can adapt their communication style to meet individual sensory needs and preferences
- Values routine, clear boundaries, and building trust over time
- Has a calm, positive outlook with a good sense of humour
- Is confident working independently while following detailed support plans
- Is organised, observant, and committed to maintaining accurate records
About the role
You'll provide tailored support with daily living, community activities, and hobbies, always working at the gentleman's pace and respecting his choices. Your role will be to promote independence, wellbeing, and meaningful experiences while providing reassurance through consistent, reliable support.
A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, and enjoying driving would be a real advantage.
If you enjoy watching films or classic TV programmes, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy, as shared interests are welcomed.
Just as importantly, you'll understand that not every moment needs conversation. Being calm, present, and comfortable with quiet companionship is often the most valuable support you can offer.
If you're dependable, caring, and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support, we'd love to hear from you.
