Join Life Space Cabins
Life Space designs and builds distinctive cabins and spaces for people to work, rest, stay and connect with the landscape around them.
From our developed cabin ranges to bespoke homes and commercial hospitality projects, we bring together design, craftsmanship, construction and commercial thinking from our home in the South Devon countryside.
As Life Space grows, we are building a more structured commercial team and creating a brand new Sales Coordinator role.
This is an opportunity to become central to our sales activity and, for the right person, to help shape the role as the business develops.
The opportunity
We are looking for someone with exceptional communication and organisational skills, combined with curiosity, initiative and the ability to think for themselves.
Your job will be to help keep our sales opportunities moving.
You will work closely with our Directors, Sales & Client Consultant and Lead Designer, helping coordinate the journey from a new enquiry through qualification, consultation, proposal and ultimately handover into our Operations team.
You'll often be one of the first people a prospective client speaks to, so you'll need to be warm, confident and interested in understanding what people are trying to achieve.
Behind the scenes, you'll help keep the whole sales team organised, making sure our CRM is accurate, actions happen, proposals progress and promising opportunities don't lose momentum simply because everyone gets busy.
**You won't necessarily be the person making the sale. You'll be the person helping make sure the sale keeps moving. **
What you'll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to new enquiries by telephone, email, WhatsApp and other appropriate channels.
- Having initial conversations with prospective clients and helping to understand their project, budget, site and timescale.
- Pre qualifying opportunities using agreed Life Space criteria.
- Booking discovery calls, consultations and workshop visits.
- Maintaining our CRM as the central source of truth for sales activity.
- Making sure every active opportunity has a clear owner, next action and date.
- Keeping an eye on the sales pipeline and spotting opportunities that need attention.
- Following up with clients and prompting colleagues when actions are outstanding.
- Preparing and coordinating quotations, proposals and supporting information.
- Helping reduce proposal turnaround times.
- Preparing for and coordinating regular sales pipeline reviews.
- Producing straightforward pipeline updates and sales reporting.
- Supporting our sales leads with the information they need for client meetings and consultations.
- Helping coordinate a clear handover into Operations when a project converts.
- Identifying opportunities to improve our sales processes and client journey.
You'll need to be comfortable following up internally as well as externally. If something is holding up an opportunity, we want you to notice it and help get it moving.
Who we're looking for
Your previous job title matters less to us than your ability, attitude and potential.
You may have experience in another sector, be a graduate, or be looking for a new direction.
We think you'll thrive in this role if you:
- Are exceptionally organised and attentive to detail.
- Communicate confidently and naturally, both verbally and in writing.
- Enjoy speaking with people and understanding what they need.
- Are curious, ask good questions and learn quickly.
- Think for yourself and use good judgement, while knowing when to ask questions or seek clarification.
- Take ownership rather than waiting to be prompted.
- Are comfortable following up with both clients and colleagues.
- Can keep several plates spinning without losing track of the detail.
- Are comfortable with technology and learning new systems.
- Have an emerging commercial instinct and want to develop it.
- Are interested in architecture, design, property, construction or well made spaces.
- Want meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to develop your role over time.
Experience in sales support, customer service, hospitality, property, estate agency, premium retail, recruitment, administration, project coordination, construction or another client facing environment could be useful, but it isn't essential.
Why Life Space?
This isn't intended to be a narrowly defined administrative role.
You'll be working alongside an experienced team spanning sales, design, construction, operations and business leadership, giving you the opportunity to learn how the different parts of a growing design and build business fit together.
We offer:
- £26,000 to £32,000 salary depending on experience.
- Genuine responsibility and the opportunity to make a visible difference.
- Training and mentoring from an experienced multidisciplinary team.
- Exposure to domestic, hospitality, commercial and bespoke projects.
- The opportunity to build commercial experience and develop your responsibilities.
- A creative and collaborative working environment in the South Devon countryside.
- The opportunity to help shape a brand new role as Life Space grows.
Location and working arrangements
This is a full time, office based position at our home in the South Devon countryside.
Being based with the team is an important part of the opportunity. You'll hear client conversations, see projects developing, ask questions and build knowledge from the sales, design, technical, operations and construction teams around you.
We believe that proximity will help you learn quickly and become an increasingly valuable part of the business.
You will need a full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport due to our rural location and limited public transport.
Where could the role lead?
We see genuine room for this role to develop.
The starting point is becoming excellent at sales coordination: understanding our clients, maintaining momentum across opportunities, mastering our systems and becoming someone the commercial team can rely upon.
From there, the role could develop according to your strengths, interests and the needs of the business, potentially including greater responsibility for qualification, sales operations, client relationships or other areas of Life Space.
We're looking for someone who wants to master the detail while gradually understanding the bigger picture, and who sees joining a growing business as an opportunity to create a valuable role within it.
