Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and professional Care Home Administrator to oversee the daily operations of our care facility called Melrose House Care Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing administrative tasks, supporting staff, and ensuring smooth communication within the team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong office, clerical, and supervisory experience to contribute to a compassionate environment dedicated to providing exceptional care. Duties
- Manage all administrative functions including scheduling, record keeping, and correspondence.
- Utilise QuickBooks for financial record management, invoicing, and budgeting tasks.
- Supervise administrative staff and support team management activities.
- Oversee human resources functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and staff records maintenance.
- Maintain effective communication with residents' families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with care regulations and organisational policies through accurate documentation.
- Handle phone enquiries with professionalism and courtesy, adhering to proper phone etiquette.
- Organise meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes to facilitate effective team communication.
- Support the management of resident records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in organising training sessions and professional development activities for staff.
Experience
- Proven experience in office administration or clerical roles within a care or healthcare environment is preferred.
- Supervising experience with a focus on team management is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with human resources procedures including recruitment and staff records management.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to phone etiquette.
- Previous experience working in a care home or similar setting will be considered an asset.
