CHS is an award-winning commercial vehicle repair body shop. We work with all the major UK insurers and numerous blue-chip businesses to keep their cars, vans and trucks on the road. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Vehicle Estimator / HGV Damage Assessor to join our growing support team at our Head Office in Hoddesdon.
The team works hard in a fast-paced industry to ensure that every customer receives the highest standard of service and that repairs are completed efficiently and professionally. We are looking for a motivated individual with experience in commercial vehicle damage assessment who can accurately assess repair requirements and support the smooth progression of repairs through the business.
The Role
- Carry out detailed inspections and assessments of damaged commercial vehicles and HGVs
- Prepare accurate repair estimates for customers, insurers, fleet operators and third parties
- Use industry-standard estimating systems such as Audatex and manufacturer methods where applicable
- Identify all repair requirements, parts and labour operations required to complete repairs
- Liaise with customers, insurers, engineers, parts suppliers and internal departments
- Work closely with workshop, parts and operations teams to ensure repairs progress efficiently
- Ensure estimating targets and service level agreements are achieved
- Maintain accurate records and update internal management systems
- Negotiate repair costs where required with insurers and customers
- Deliver excellent customer service and professionalism at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA), Estimator, Damage Assessor or Commercial Vehicle Estimator is essential
- Experience assessing commercial vehicles and HGV accident damage is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of commercial vehicle repair methods and repair processes
- Experience using Audatex or other industry-standard estimating software
- Ability to identify repair methods, replacement requirements and associated costs accurately
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Reliable, organised and able to work effectively under pressure
- Courteous, professional and customer-focused
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Salary will be dependent upon experience.
Opening Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
