This is fantastic opportunity for a new graduate of psychology or an experienced practitioner to become an Assistant Psychologist on the older adult ward in Scunthorpe. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team providing acute care, assessment and treatment to a cohort of older people with either dementia or difficulties with mental health requiring an admission.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has the necessary skills to make therapeutic relationships easily and who is creative and can work as part of a team. You will work with a Clinical Psychologist on the ward but within a wider older adult psychology team across the Care Group.
To assist the Clinical Psychologist in the assessment and delivery of psychological treatment in an older adult inpatient setting.
To complete file reviews and initial formulations to assist the psychological care of patients admitted to the ward.
To support neuropsychological assessment for organic patients in the inpatient setting
To co-lead group work in the inpatient setting
To support off-ward activities in terms of behavioural activation and for observations
Complete literature reviews as required by the Clinical Psychologist
