Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles, primarily flatbed trucks, to deliver goods efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery will ensure our customers receive their orders on time while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure roadworthiness and compliance
- Load and secure cargo on flatbeds, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety during transit
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel consumption
- Deliver goods to various locations, providing excellent customer service and professionalism at all times
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV Class 1 license (C+E)
- Previous experience with flatbed transportation and securing cargo is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety procedures for large vehicles
- Delivery driver experience with a track record of punctuality and reliability
- Familiarity with route planning software or GPS systems is advantageous
