We are a well-established, family-owned provider of specialist dementia nursing care. We currently operate 9 homes with 717 beds and are growing to 12 homes over the next six months. We are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a supportive and values-driven environment.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to join our finance team and work closely with the CFO. This is a practical, delivery-focused role with no direct reports. You will own the production of accurate and timely management accounts, maintain the integrity of the balance sheet, and support the wider finance function as the group expands.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements
- Process journals and maintain the general ledger in Sage 50
- Complete full balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Support month-end and year-end processes
- Assist with forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation calculations
- Support the CFO with ad-hoc analysis
- Help ensure financial controls and processes remain robust as the group grows from 9 to 12 homes
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors and other professional advisers as needed
Person Specification
Essential
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or finalist with strong practical experience
- Solid experience producing management accounts and performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Hands-on approach – comfortable processing journals and owning the numbers from the ground up
- Experience of Sage 50 (or similar)
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to work accurately under monthly deadlines
- Clear communicator who can work effectively with a CFO and operational colleagues
Desirable
- Previous experience in the care, healthcare or multi-site service sector
- Experience supporting a growing organisation through expansion
