Building Operative / Groundworker
JCJ Group is looking to recruit an experienced Building Operative / Groundworker to join our team.
We are looking for a practical, experienced all-rounder who is capable of carrying out a variety of building, groundworks and external works across our projects.
Duties will include:
· Groundworks and general site works
· Concrete works, including preparation, placing and finishing
· Slabbing and paving
· Kerbing
· Drainage works
· Excavation and preparation works
· Fencing
· Minor brick and blockwork
· General building and repair works
· Making good following demolition and structural works
· Assisting with other construction and site activities as required
The ideal candidate:
We are looking for someone with good practical experience who can turn their hand to a variety of building and groundworks tasks.
Applicants should:
· Have previous experience in groundworks and general building works
· Be competent in slabbing, kerbing and concrete work
· Be capable of working independently as well as part of a team
· Take pride in producing a good standard of work
· Have a practical approach to solving problems on site
· Be reliable and willing to work across a variety of different projects
· Hold a valid CSCS card or equivalent
· Hold a full UK driving licence
Additional plant tickets or construction qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
About the role
This is a permanent position working as part of JCJ Group’s existing site teams.
Our work is varied and includes demolition, structural alterations, temporary works, construction and associated building works. The successful candidate will therefore work across a wide range of projects rather than carrying out the same type of work every day.
Projects are undertaken at various locations throughout Scotland, and working away from home will be required from time to time.
Competitive rate of pay, dependent on experience and ability.
