The Petersham is a stunning privately owned hotel, proudly overlooking the River Thames and surrounding Petersham Meadows. We are looking for friendly individuals to join our energetic team.
90 seat high quality, classic restaurant with buzzing atmosphere with unrivalled views from every restaurant and bar table.
Small classic bar, specialising in wines and Champagnes ‘by the glass’, quality cocktails, fine and aged spirits, draught and bottled beers.
Responsibilities
The Petersham is looking for a friendly, highly organized and proactive professional bartender who is efficient with exceptional customer service skills.
Bartenders work directly with customers by mixing and serving drink orders. Their responsibilities include verifying age requirements, knowing alcohol pairing and tastes, knowing how to make traditional and classy drinks, processing payments, managing inventory and cleaning bar supplies. They also handle food orders directly from customers or the wait staff and inform customers of any specials. They ensure food and beverage compliance, restock bar inventory, decide menu items and manage the overall bar operations.
We are looking for a bartender with:
- Good knowledge of wines & spirits
- Good Knowledge of cocktails
- Knowledge of alcohol pairings
- Confidence in making recommendations
· Confidence to up-sell when appropriate
· Experience and competency in serving at table
· Competency in processing payments
· Experience in managing stock and stock control
· Able to manage bar lists with accuracy
· Creativity
· Follow all relevant regulations
· Provide excellent customer service to guests
Also work with the restaurant team by:
- Helping to meet and greet customers
- Presenting menus and able to provide detailed information when asked
- Helping to prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
- Offer menu recommendations upon request
- Helping to serve food and drink orders
