About Us
The Marsh Community Centre Charitable Company has proudly supported the local community since 2002, providing advice, food support, wellbeing services and opportunities for people of all ages.
We are looking for a compassionate, experienced and motivated Family Worker to join our team and make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and families facing complex challenges.
About the Role
You will provide intensive, family-centred support to families experiencing multiple disadvantages, helping them overcome barriers, build resilience and improve long-term outcomes.
Working alongside schools, health professionals, Children's Social Care and other partner agencies, you will support families through difficult circumstances while empowering them to achieve positive and sustainable change.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and whole-family support.
- Complete assessments, support plans and risk assessments.
- Carry out home visits where appropriate.
- Support families with parenting, routines and independent living skills.
- Help families access benefits, housing, education, healthcare and community services.
- Support families experiencing financial hardship, poor mental health and social isolation.
- Attend Team Around the Family (TAF), Early Help, Child in Need and other multi-agency meetings.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case records and reports.
- Promote safeguarding and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

- Poverty and financial hardship
- Family breakdown
- Child behaviour concerns
- School attendance issues
- Youth offending and anti-social behaviour
- Safeguarding concerns
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in Family Support, Social Care, Youth Work, Health & Social Care or a related field.
- Experience supporting vulnerable children, young people and families with complex needs.
- Excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills.
- A compassionate, non-judgemental approach.
- The ability to build trusting relationships with families.
- Strong problem-solving skills and professional boundaries.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
