Are you a hands-on Hydraulics Engineer looking to work with innovative safety technology that is helping to prevent workplace accidents across construction, industrial, and heavy plant environments?
We are seeking an experienced Hydraulics Engineer to support the development, installation, testing, and continuous improvement of advanced vehicle-mounted safety systems, including the AutoStop solution. Working within a fast-growing engineering and technology business, you'll play a key role in delivering intelligent safety products that integrate hydraulic, electrical, and control systems to protect people and equipment on site. The company specialises in AI-powered safety technology designed to reduce collisions and improve operational safety in high-risk environments.
The Role
- Design, develop and optimise hydraulic systems for safety-critical applications.
- Support the integration of hydraulic components with electronic control and sensing technologies.
- Conduct fault finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis on hydraulic installations.
- Produce technical documentation, schematics and engineering reports.
- Work closely with product development, manufacturing and field service teams.
- Support prototype builds, testing programmes and product validation activities.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and performance.
About You
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Hydraulic, Agricultural, Automotive or related Engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic circuits, valves, pumps, actuators and control systems.
- Experience working with mobile plant, off-highway vehicles, construction equipment or industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
- Practical problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience integrating hydraulic and electronic control systems.
- Knowledge of CANbus, sensors or vehicle safety technologies.
- Experience supporting product development and testing activities.
