Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across our facilities. The position involves working with a variety of electrical components, schematics, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including wiring, switches, sensors, and control panels.
- Programme, test, and modify programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately to facilitate repairs and installations.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to implement system upgrades or modifications.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance or related field within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for designing or modifying electrical layouts is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Good customer service skills to effectively communicate with team members and external vendors.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering are preferred.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
