Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic self-employed Swim Teachers to join our aquatics team (Level 2 SEQ - applications will be accepted from Swim England qualified teachers only). The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons, while fostering a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your teaching skills while helping individuals develop their swimming proficiency and confidence in the water.
Hours will vary and the roles are largely to cover lessons as required when we have gaps in our rota. The lessons are at weekends and on evenings so availability at these times is essential.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons tailored to the needs of different age groups and skill levels.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to health and safety guidelines and supervising activities at all times.
- Provide clear instructions and constructive feedback to help learners improve their technique and confidence.
- Maintain organised lesson plans and keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation, enjoyment, and personal development.
- Uphold the organisation’s standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service at all times.
Requirements
- Hold a recognised Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (SEQ).
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, within a swimming environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate learners of all ages.
- A passion for teaching and promoting water safety awareness.
- Ability to work flexibly across scheduled lesson times, at evenings and weekends.
- First aid certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided if required.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for all participants.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about swimming teaching who wish to make a positive impact through aquatic education.
Pay: £17.50 per hour
